Do you love adrenaline rushes? Do you love adventure and mystery? Do you have a sharp eye and often think that you could have been a detective? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then you will definitely enjoy a visit to the Dodo Quest.
This playground area, located in Moka, is one of its kind in Mauritius. The Dodo Quest has two main types of games to offer, which they boast, will give you the impression of being in a video game.
The first one, “Escape Rooms”, has 5 different settings and therefore 5 different challenges to offer. The second one, “Action! Games” – a hide-and-seek game which unfolds in the dark – has 4 activities to choose from.
A. ESCAPE ROOMS
1. If you love games based on history, go for the first room, “Le bureau de l’explorateur” (the explorer’s office). You will have to find Pierre Poivre’s secret, the same Pierre Poivre who is mainly responsible for the fascinating botanical garden in Pamplemousses. The golden nut is hidden somewhere in his office (the setting of which matches the era perfectly). Find the nut and plant it. But be careful, the plant will die if you take more than one hour!
2. Are you a Prison Break fan? Dodo Quest has a unique adventure for you to enjoy. You and your team are “unjustly” jailed. Break free by following the steps of three prisoners who were able to get away. Should you be able to find out what steps they took first. You have one hour to try.
3. Do you like thrillers and spooky stories? As you search for the Dodo, you will reach a small, gloomy house. You will learn that it belongs to a bird hunter who wants to kill them all. Will you succeed in saving the “last Dodo egg” before dusk?
4. You are locked away in the “maison d’aliénés” (house of the alienated ones). Escape from it! However, appearances may be deceptive. What mysteries, what secrets are hidden behind this strange house? Find out.
5. How does it feel to be locked in a…coffin? Can one break free from it? The “Ensevelis” (buried) game gives you and your partner, in two different coffins, to break free from them. Caution; this activity is not for claustrophobics or people who suffer from cardiac diseases.
The Dodo Quest website page has teased a 6th room soon, an action-packed mission, the “Bank Robbery”. How exciting, don’t you think?
B. ACTION GAMES
1. Hop into the cart with a headgear on your head. You have to go through dark tunnels in the setting of a gold mine to find your friends. You have one hour to do so.
2. A pit filled with foam, a net, a bamboo jungle and many mysteries await in the two levels of the second option, the “Dark Jungle Labyrinth”.
3. For those who still prefer some light, the “Magic Cave” is filled with laser fireflies. Find, in addition to your friends, treasures and secret tunnels!
4. Then there is the “Big Hunt”, which can accommodate up to 16 persons for a big hide-and-seek game!
With so much entertainment, a visit to the Dodo Quest is a must! If you won’t find out all the secrets in the different games for sure, you will definitely enjoy yourself a lot.
